Your data, your choice

Privacy notice.

The public free edition of Doshlet is built for personal budgeting on your iPhone, without an account or bank connection.

Updated 8 October 2026 · Applies to the public free edition of Doshlet for iPhone

The essentials

Your pots, periods, entries, plans and preferences are stored on your device. This free version does not upload your budget to Doshlet servers, process subscriptions or include advertising or analytics SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites.

Information on your device

Doshlet stores the budget details you enter, including pot names, amounts, expenses, adjustments and planned commitments, so it can show your allowance and history. Preferences, including your chosen appearance and Today colour, are also saved on your device. Optional reminders are scheduled on your device. An optional Home Screen widget reads the pot you choose from shared on-device app storage.

Apple's device backup settings may include app data. You control notification permissions, widget visibility and device backups through iOS settings.

Exports and deletion

You can export records as CSV or JSON. Exports can include archived history and deleted entries. Exported files are readable and are not encrypted by Doshlet; you choose where to save or share them. JSON export is a copy of your data, not an in-app restore feature.

Archiving a pot keeps its history on your device. Deleted entries are retained for in-app recovery until their pot data is permanently deleted. You can permanently delete a local pot and its history from Pots or the app's Data and privacy controls. Export first if you need a copy. Previously exported files and device backups are separate copies under your control. Removing the app may remove its local records. This release has no Doshlet cloud restore.

Support email

Doshlet operates this app and website. If you email support@doshlet.com, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to send. We use it to respond and handle your request under our legitimate interest in providing support. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for support and any applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending financial records unless they are needed to resolve your request.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address. You may also object to our use of your information or ask us to restrict it. These requests concern information held for support; your on-device budget remains under your control.

Website visits

This website is hosted by a third-party web host. The site itself has no analytics, advertising trackers, forms or account sign-in, and does not set marketing cookies. The host may process technical access and security logs such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and time of visit to deliver and protect the site. Contact us if you have questions about this processing.

Earlier test accounts

Earlier private test builds supported online accounts and shared pots. Those services are not offered to new users in this free release. If you used an earlier test account, contact support@doshlet.com for help with account or server-data requests. Deleting local app data does not by itself delete an earlier server account.

Your rights and concerns

If you have questions about information Doshlet holds for support or an earlier test account, contact support@doshlet.com. We will consider requests to access, correct, erase or receive a copy of that information, as applicable. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes and contact

If Doshlet adds online or Plus features, we will update this notice before offering them publicly. For privacy questions or requests, email support@doshlet.com.
